OmicsTech launches its presentation video
In the framework of the Open Gov Week (Semana de la Administración Abierta), the Infrastructure of Omics Technologies (ICTS OmicsTech) launches a presentation video describing its mission and vision, structure, services offered, etc.
OmicsTech is a distributed Unique Science and Technology Infrastructure (ICTS) formed by the Centro Nacional de Análisis Genómico (CNAG), the CRG/UPF Proteomics Unit, and the Center of Omic Sciences (COS).
The Infrastructure of Omics Technologies (ICTS OmicsTech) offers researchers the possibility of using singular facilities exclusively dedicated to omics technologies, with a wide spectrum of biomolecular analysis tools which provide a holistic overview of biological processes. These facilities support research, technological development and innovation activities. There are very few institutions worldwide with similar characteristics and capacity, in terms of technology diversification, state-of-the-art instrumentation and ad hoc bioinformatics.
Unique Science and Technology Infrastructure (ICTS) refers to large facilities, resources, equipment and services unique in their fields, which have the objective of offering a high-quality service, the development of top-quality cutting-edge research, as well as providing communication, exchange and preservation of knowledge, the transfer of technology, and promotion of innovation. These infrastructures have a very high cost of investment, maintenance and operation, and are of strategic importance which justifies their availability for the entire R + D + I collective. All the ICTS share three fundamental characteristics; they are infrastructures with public ownership, unique and open to competitive access. The ICTS are distributed throughout the national territory and are included in what is called the "Map of Unique Science and Technology Infrastructures". More information on ICTS
