Postet 14th CNAG Symposium on Genome Research: Cancer Genomics

The 14th edition of the CNAG Symposium on Genome Research turns its spotlight on Cancer Genomics, highlighting how genomic insights are reshaping our understanding of tumour initiation, progression, metastasis, inherited risk, and therapeutic response. This year’s programme brings together an outstanding group of experts whose work is advancing the biological and clinical understanding of cancer.

The symposium will feature presentations from Sabine Tejpar (KU Leuven), Anna Pascual (CNAG), Eduard Batlle (IRB Barcelona), Sara Gutiérrez (VHIO), Marjanka Schmidt (NKI/LUMC), Sergi Beltran (CNAG), Conxi Lázaro (ICO-IDIBELL), Roberto Piñeiro (Oncomet–IDIS) and Ivo Gut (CNAG).

Across three focused sessions, participants will explore key aspects of cancer biology, including colorectal cancer evolution and metastatic behaviour, hereditary cancer risk and germline determinants, breast cancer predisposition, tumour heterogeneity at the single-cell level, the genomic features of circulating tumour cells, and approaches to interpreting complex cancer genomes. The day will conclude with a guided visit to the CNAG facilities.

The symposium will be held as a full-day, in-person event on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Auditori Antoni Caparrós, Parc Científic de Barcelona (Barcelona, Spain). The programme runs from 09:00 to 16:30 and will conclude with a guided visit to the CNAG facilities.
