CNAG Secures ISO 27001:2022 Certification, Strengthening Our Dedication to Information Security Management
At the OmicsTech Genomic platform located at CNAG, we remain steadfast in our commitment to excellence. As a globally recognized center for genomic sequencing and analysis, we collaborate with numerous healthcare institutions and research organizations. To honor our responsibility to our collaborators, we also prioritize quality in information security management. This dedication is now highlighted by our ISO 27001:2022 certification, endorsed by SGC. This new milestone underscores our commitment to the highest standards in information security management and reinforces our leadership in genomics research.
ISO 27001:2022 is an internationally recognized standard outlining the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving an information security management system (ISMS). This system protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information. By achieving this certification, the Omicstech Genomic Platform located at CNAG takes a significant step forward in systematically managing sensitive information and ensuring its confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Our IT team and Quality departments spearheaded the process of obtaining the ISO 27001:2022 certification, coordinating with all departments within the organization, including the Sequencing Unit, the Bioinformatics Unit, research groups, and corporate areas. During the certification process, we validated our information security practices, encompassing risk assessment, control implementation, and continuous monitoring and improvement.
