The Genomics Area is formed by the CNAG sequencing platform (SP-CNAG) and the Genomics and transcriptomics facility of the COS. SP-CNAG-CRG is the main service provider in this area, and it focuses its activities on 2nd generation sequencing technologies and the corresponding analysis tools. It covers a wide range of capabilities: whole genome sequencing (WG-Seq), exome sequencing (Exome-Seq), whole genome bisulphite sequencing (BS-Seq), several RNA applications (mRNA or totalRNA, stranded or no stranded), custom capture sequencing (Custom capture-Seq), Genotyping by Sequencing (GBS), chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing (ChIP-Seq), and sequencing of PCR products (Amplicon-Seq). The expertise is guaranteed by professionals with an extensive experience in sequencing, data analysis, data banking and data analysis. This technical area also includes the services offered by COS through its Genomics and Transcriptomics facility, centred in small genomes sequencing and metagenomics studies. This area of the IOT takes part in genome sequencing and analysis projects in areas as diverse as cancer genetics, rare disorders, host-pathogen interactions, preservation of endangered species, evolutionary studies and the improvement of species of agricultural/ farm interest
